Summer Enrichment Camp

Campers visit Cunningham Falls near Thurmont, MD, 2018.

The Frederick Rescue Mission’s Summer Enrichment Camp in Thurmont is a low cost summer enrichment program for first through fifth graders who could use some reinforcement of skills over the school break. They enjoy games, Bible lessons and songs, free lunch, math and reading lessons, crafts, outdoor activities, field trips and guest speakers. The camp begins at 9:00 am and runs through 3:00 p.m. four days a week (Monday through Thursday) for seven weeks. Four trained staff members from the Rescue Mission are augmented by volunteers from area churches. Each church is asked to provide volunteers for one week. There is a theme for the week and a camp song. Volunteers will be providing assistance with the children wherever it is needed. 2019 will be the second year for the camp in Thurmont.  If you would like to volunteer for this year’s program, please contact Pat Alexander.
